Field Support Technologist - Career
Kinects Solutions Inc. (KSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kinectrics Inc., has developed an innovative and cost effective power line communication technology and related portfolio of products and applications for electrical utilities. As a new independent company KSI is looking for a Field Support Technologist.
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role will be key in the Operations department and will have diverse responsibilities in the areas of Deployment Support, Product Performance investigations, and Technical liaison with Kinects Contract Manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Engineering Support / Investigations
- Debug, troubleshoot and investigation of product related problems to the component level
- Technical support of Contract manufactures in the debug and repair of Kinects hardware products
- Assembly of small volume prototype builds for customer deployments
- Liaise between engineering and third party manufactures aiding in the transition of prototype builds from engineering to contract manufacture
Field Deployment Support:
- Work with the deployment team addressing field related technical issues
- Provide 2nd line technical support to customer concerns and problems
- Assist the deployment team in defining key parameters in the site definition thus optimizing deployment success
- On site support for installation and product performance issues
- Configure Kinects products in accordance with customer solution requirements
Qualifications will include:
- Electronic Engineering Technologist with 10-15 years experience in similar environment
- Surface mount technology rework experience
- Requires experience in the use of modern electronic test equipment and instrumentation.
- Demonstrate ability in working with a high degree of independence and work in a team environment.
- Strong problem solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively interface with customers
- Highly creative and enjoy collaborative problem solving in a time sensitive, team oriented environment
- Capable of learning new bodies of technical knowledge and specifications quickly and being able to demonstrate a high degree of resourcefulness
- A combination of experience dealing with internal resources and external vendors/service providers
- Field service and Field deployment experience
- Working towards or completion of a PMP designation is a definite asset
