Sr. Data Analyst - Career
Kinects Solutions Inc. (KSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kinectrics Inc., has developed an innovative and cost effective power line communication technology and related portfolio of products and applications for electrical utilities. As a new independent company KSI is looking for a Sr. Data Analyst.
Reporting into the Technology Dept., this role will be responsible for data analysis (retrieve data from different systems and data sources, perform data analysis based on KPI system objectives, on a daily basis) for Enterprise Utility Smart-Grid Management System and Applications. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, integrated team developing data acquisition and communications solutions.
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Data analysis - retrieve data from different systems and data sources, perform data analysis based on KPI system objectives, on a daily basis
- Data analysis, find and report issues, investigation, determination, resolution
- Predict system performance and physical component life spans using historical data and statistical analysis techniques
- Create statistical models
- Propose system enhancements based on data analysis and data modeling
- Interact with Client, IT and Sales/service dept for data issues and ad-hoc queries
- Software maintenance, enhancement and development for data systems
- Setup environment and support production systems
- Expected to lead and mentor other team members to complete projects or tasks, on schedule and achieve functional and technology objectives
Qualifications will include:
- 5+ years hand-on data analysis or database software development experience
- Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering degree
- Familiar with MDM process, methodology and data warehouses system
- Have strong technical skills in writing complex SQL ad-hoc query, and data presentation
- Have excellent knowledge in Excel, data analysis and reporting tools
- Good knowledge in SQL Server, Oracle, ETL and reporting and development tools
- Good architecture knowledge: n-tier, SOA, ETL, data warehouse, data mining, data integration architecture
- Able to use C#, Java, XML, common report generation tools
- Familiar with software development methodologies, prefer Agile
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
- Excellent communications skills both oral and written
- Able to work in a fast paced, product/project oriented, start up environment
- Must be a self-starter with minimum supervision
- PLC signal-data process system experience would be an asset
- Utility industry would be an asset
